It’s all about your intentions.
All things have two sides to them and Masonry is no exception. Many have joined Freemasonry for the wrong reasons and have used it’s knowledge for their own personal gains. This was never the purpose of the craft and is actually stated as such in some of the ritual work.
“Freemasonry reveres no man for his worldly wealth or honors.”
“It is the internal and not external qualities of a man that should recommend him to be made a Mason.”
It’s all about your intentions. Some people within the craft have tried to use it’s hidden knowledge of understanding human consciousness, and finding the divine within as a tool for self advancement or for power over others. I am ashamed to even be associated with these people. Some have attempted to hijack the Craft and use it to promote darkness. I call these people out! It is up to the younger generation of good-willed Masons to take back the Craft and use it what it was intended for. A system of self-exploration and self-perfection through moral and allegorical teachings. A fraternity who’s main objective is to better humanity by helping individuals to overcome their bad habits and to live more virtuous lives. This is the true meaning of Masonry. My intentions are good and will remain that way. It’s not what you do in life, but how you do it. Keep this in mind always. In the words of my friend Frater X:
“Masonry is ours, we need to take it back!”
