The Point of a Sharp Instrument-Top 10

Number 6

In this post, I discuss how Sacred Geometry has been suppressed by modern religion and the powerful elite throughout history. It is my belief that before the before the Roman Catholic Church did everything in their power to crack down on other religious traditions, Sacred Geometry was known and revered. Elements of it can be seen in ancient cathedrals and symbolism. Some symbolism even made it through to Christian symbolism, though it has been obscured through time.

Overcoming Fear-The first hurdle of many

As our freedoms are being ripped away from us, one by one by a ruthless, fascism-driven new administration, it’s easy to find yourself living in constant fear. There is an extra layer of fear that is being applied by this administration that we must rise above and defeat. That layer of fear is made out of the lies that we are being fed about Muslims all being terrorists, immigrants stealing our jobs, the state of our country in regards to lack of jobs and crime, etc. These are blatant lies told to us in hopes of dividing us further and to make more accepting of our rights being taken away.

This old-world view of racism and xenophobia is seeing a resurgence, but it is ultimately going to fail. The masses that are clinging to this way of thinking are falling more deeply under its spell, while the rest of us, who refuse to buy into the fear are the ones who are going to be ready for the new paradigm that is unfolding. Trump has done his best to reignite the fires of hatred and ignorance of this old-world view, but this fire will only burn temporarily and will be snuffed due to lack of oxygen.  This constant feeding of fear from this administration may cause many to buy into the hatred even more than they already have, but luckily, there are many out there who refuse to buy into this and will be on the front lines of the resistance.

The conquest that the current administration is using to divide and conquer, I believe, will ultimately unite those who would have otherwise remained at a distance from one another. The administration believes that what they are pursuing, is what America really wants. This “America” is only, in reality, a very small percentage of the whole. It is up to us, as the outliers of this group, to unite and join forces in bringing this fascism to it’s knees.

I challenge each of you individuals who stand against this current administration and its wave of fascism to unite with your fellow American. Reach out a hand of friendship to an immigrant or a refugee. Reach out to a Muslim. Help in any way you can with anyone that you know, who will be targeted by hatred. Let them know that you are on their side and that you will not let them be victimized. Every little action makes a difference. Sign petitions, call your local politicians, attend rallies and put your money into companies and charities that oppose this new administration. The most powerful protest of all to these elites is loss of profit. Rising above this fear-based campaign is our first hurdle as dissenters. It is a big task, but it will be overcome.

Consciousness Rising

Despite the seemingly bleak situation in America after the surprising victory by reality television icon, Donald Trump. Our collective consciousness is rising. Throughout Trump’s entire campaign, he made no secret of his bigotry, sexism, racism, and xenophobia. There is a contingent of Americans that unfortunately ate this up and found him fit to vote for. In an election year where there really were no good or viable candidates, the worst outcome was inevitable. The mass consensus was that everyone wanted change and wanted someone who didn’t have political baggage. They also wanted someone who was not a Washington insider. Disillusioned by the supposed “liberal” Democratic party and it’s failure to address many of the real problems that America faced, a lot of voters turned toward the outsider.

The great awakening of human consciousness has been happening for a couple of years now, but is really ramping up. People are hitting the streets and standing up for equality in the face of adversity and are finding a connection to the divine by supporting love in the face of hatred. The consensus is that people are not happy with the state of our world. Some are voicing their displeasure by rallying behind those that are being made victims of this horrifying presidential choice. They are standing in solidarity with the groups of people that have been targeted by Trump’s hateful rhetoric. Others, are choosing to celebrate in their own hatred, and are bringing their hatred out into the public eye. This, despite it’s horrific appearance, may actually be a blessing in disguise. It is much easier to fix the problem when it becomes visible and is no longer veiled from public scrutiny.  As humanity accelerates into this new age of Aquarius, there are bound to be some growing pains.

This shift into a new Golden Age will see an end of our old way of life and the beginning of a new way of life. One that promises great change in our world. It is up to the individual if they want to come along for the ride and embrace change, or if they want to stay trapped in their old-world way of thinking. Those who have decided to embrace positive change and are working to spread love in the world have ascended up the vibratory scale and are now dwelling on the cusp of a spiritual and humanitarian breakthrough. These individuals are still somewhat residing in their animal-nature, but are on the cusp of rising above it into spirit. This vibratory shift is the step in ascension right before the lid comes off and we enter the spiritual-based half of our consciousness. These individuals who are working to spread love in this time of chaos and hatred will not be left behind when the sweeping wave of ascension comes. On the flip side of this coin, however,  you have fear-based consciousness that this election and the state of the world have really brought into the light of day. Individuals who choose to embrace this way of thinking will remain stuck in their animal-nature, with little possibility of rising above it. They are in threat to be left behind and are will continue falling further into material consciousness and suffering. With their hatred and bigotry they are promoting materialism, and animal-passion that threatens to drag others down with them. They are being driven by ignorance and are powered only by their fear and a fight-or-flight mindset. This has created a great spiritual imbalance in our world.

All of the great Mystery Traditions teach the process of overcoming the lower-self and our animal nature, and embrace a return to our Divine Nature. Religious and mystical teachings allude to the fall of humankind from a divine, spirit-balanced nature to an earthly, material-based imbalanced nature, and the need for us to raise our collective vibration back up. By doing this, we can reunite with our spirit-balanced nature that we have lost touch with. The goal of the Mysteries and of all true religious teachings is to overcome this imbalance and to live in a way that is in harmony with natural law and is driven by love. This can be done with betterment of the self through self-mastery and taming of our animal nature. This is known as “The Great Work”.  Though it is easy for many of us to become angry and frustrated with the state of our world and those who promote hatred, we must overcome these emotions and counteract them with love and mutual acceptance of all types of people. We must cast out our judgement on others and know that everyone walks a hard road in life. The Hermetic Principle of Polarity states that everything is dual and is polarized. To counter-act the strong polarization of the animal-self that our global consciousness is pulling toward right now, we must put forth our Divine Selves. Anything we can do to help our fellow creatures and the less fortunate is a great first step. We must stand in solidarity with love and equality so that we don’t all get washed away in the coming wave of ascension!

The Great Awakening

It has begun…or maybe it has been going on for a while and we are just now noticing. The internet age is upon us and so is the inundation of information.  We are bombarded with information both good and bad, real and unreal, true and false, fabricated and non-fabricated.  It’s hard to tell what to believe anymore.  I always like to use the “Follow the money” when knowing who to trust.  Since mainstream media is owned by corporate interest, it goes without saying that they are not going to report accurate news which could tarnish their  relationship with their corporate partners.

With the impending “election” of our next President the media is trying to drive a wedge between us and trying to separate us even more than we already are. By pointing out the differences in people, we feel alienated and discriminated against.  Someone is always made the victim and the culprit.  This method has been used for centuries to keep people down.  Divide and conquer.  This is being used against us every day. It’s everywhere, all around us. It’s much easier to focus on our differences than to focus on our similarities.

Despite all of the negative news/brainwashing that is being spouted by the corporate media, there is a movement growing. A movement through social media that is not accepting the world in the state that is in and moving toward.  Fed up with the racist/fascist/police state machine, there is a movement growing and it will not be denied.  The corporate media is doing it’s best to paint the movement as a trend or as an angry mob of dissenters.  A mob that wants to ruin our supposed state of peace and values.  This is clearly attempting to paint the movement in a negative light and to try to add distance between it and the common individual. While this may be working on some, it doesn’t seem to be deterring the movement. It seems that every day, more and more people are questioning the way our government is being run.  It is becoming increasingly clear, that they whole system is a fraud.  When this becomes the consensus among the majority of Americans (which it is headed toward), it will no longer be tolerated and change is inevitable.  The question is, will it happen in time?

It seems that the Powers That Be are pushing us toward martial law and a police state that only has the corporate interest in mind. Since our government and officials are clearly controlled by the corporate interest, this is continually pushed down our throats.  The freedom of speech that the internet provides is our saving grace right now.  We should all make it our civil duty to try and propagate information that we feel will help make change in the world.  It may seem to be a small step, but it’s catching on like wild fire.  People are taking notice and the Powers That Be are scared.  That is why they are ramping up the brainwashing and propaganda.  Look for alternative sources for information. Don’t believe everything you read. Do some research and find the biases, but stay focused on the goal of constantly moving forward, but looking to history for patterns. It is up to us and the time is now.  The veil is being lifted and more and more light being shed on the Man Behind the Curtain.  It’s time to forget our differences and focus on our common goals. To live together in peace and to find happiness.  This attitude will be the downfall of the Powers That Be.

Birth-A Natural, Peaceful Approach

In my latest installment, I would like to do something a little different and tell everyone a story while providing a bit of insight as well. It’s been a little while since I was able to write a new blog, the reason being that my wife and I just had our first child.

We opted for a home birth for many reasons, not the least being our distrust of the medical industry. We knew that birth is a natural human function and rarely requires medical intervention.  We as a society have certainly have been brainwashed to believe the opposite of this, however. We are told that birth is very risky, difficult, and downright dangerous. I can’t tell you how many times I was asked “what are you going to do if something goes wrong?” as if it was a given that something would go wrong. We trusted in the power of the universe that everything would go fine and it did. The most rewarding and powerful part of the experience was that our daughter was brought into this world in peaceful and comfortable conditions. A peace that I am confident will remain a part of her for life.

We contacted a midwife who had been helping mothers birth at home for over 30 years. She was very much in sync with us and our beliefs about birth as well as politics and life in general. She was well aware of the way in which birth is handled by the medical industry who treats it as a medical procedure rather than a natural process, choosing to intervene  and do things their way rather than what’s comfortable to the mother, father and baby. Also refusing to let nature work rather than trying to control it.  I could go on ad finitum about all of the problems that I have with the American medical industry, but I’ll save that for another time.

Needless to say, my wife and I were exstatic the day that her contractions began. The long wait to meet our baby would soon be over! The contractions began in earnest on the evening of June 2nd, consequently the night of the full Strawberry Moon. We called our midwife around 11pm and she was there within an hour. She got everything set up around the house to accommodate us. My wife’s contractions were coming in powerful waves and she was focusing on manifesting the baby. Our midwife told her to focus on finding her “center” to help the process. This was extremely important in the whole birthing process as we were not only trying to make sure that my wife stay focused on staying on task, but also because bringing the baby from one plane of existence to the other is akin to crossing the event horizon. In order to cross over from one plane to another involves finding the center of that existence and crossing over.

My goal during labor was to be as supportive as I could and to give encouragement. My wife moved about our tiny house to various locations seeking comfort. I thought to myself that this moving around would not have been a possibility in a hospital setting. She would have been confined to a bed, with various strangers popping in and out of the room. Not a comfortable, peaceful experience for sure! Laboring in the home not only provided comfortable surroundings, but we also knew where everything that we needed was located and were not at the mercy of a doctor or nurse. It was altogether a fabulous experience. An experience that we will never forget. My instincts tell me that a hospital birth would be unforgettable as well, but certain aspects of it we would wish that we could forget. Our beautiful daughter came into this world in our peaceful home without the added duress of the hospital setting. When a last minute minor emergency arose (our baby had some merconium aspiration), our experienced midwife acted quickly and removed the fluid from our babies lungs with the accuracy of a surgeon. Our baby was safe and beautiful, breathing and crying out. I’ve never heard a sweeter sound. An amazing moment in our lives! June 3rd. What a magical day!

I know that there are times when Western medicine is a great thing. Injuries, illnesses, dire emergencies, etc. I am truly glad that we as a society have the technology that we do. The fact of the matter though is that the majority of births are safe and can be handled at home. The medical industry has used just about every trick in the book to brainwash the public otherwise, but those who can see through the b.s. should take their birthing rights back and keep their money out of the greedy pockets of the medical industry. This is just one of many ways we can fight the corrupt system. Trust in the universe, God, and your body. Together they will all make great things happen. A peaceful birth will manifest peace within that child that will last a lifetime and beyond!

Vegetarian Philosophers-” I think, therefore I don’t eat meat.”

Was that the famous quote? Not quite, but maybe it should have been though.

Some of the greatest minds of antiquity understood that decisions made in our every day lives carry over into our spiritual and mental well-being, as well as our physical well-being. A vegetarian or plant-based diet is healthy and sustainable. What’s even better about it is that it decreases the suffering of our fellow creatures. As an individual embarks on a journey of spiritual discovery, it is likely that they will discover the connection of all things. It is inevitable then that they will feel more compassion. The search for the meaning of life and the nature of the universe has a similar result. Great thinkers have given various reasons for their decision to exclude meat from their diets. Despite their differences, their decision was the same.

Let’s take a look at a couple of examples.

Our first example is Plato. Though there isn’t definitive information that Plato was a vegetarian, his famous work The Republic makes a strong case that he was. His interpretation of an ideal society in The Republic reads as follows:
“The work-people will live , I suppose, on barley and wheat, baking cakes of the meal and kneading loaves of the flour. And spreading these excellent cakes and loaves upon mats of straw or upon clean leaves, and themselves reclining upon rude beds of yew or myrtle boughs, they will make merry, themselves and their children, drinking their wine, weaving garlands, and singing the praises of the gods, enjoying one another’s society and not begetting children beyond their means through a prudent fear of poverty or war … We shall also set before them a dessert, I imagine, of figs. peas and beans; they may roast myrtle berries and beech nuts at the fire, taking wine with their fruit in great moderation. And thus passing their days in tranquility and sound health, they will, in all probability, live to a very advanced age and, dying. bequeath to their children a life in which their own will be reproduced.”
He them goes onto describe the fall of the great society in which Mankind is driven by the desires of material wealth and a diet of flesh.

Our next example is that of historian, biographer and thinker; Plutarch. Plutarch was a follower of Plato and adhered to a plant-based diet and an upright moral conduct. His work Moralia contains excerpts explaining his stance on the moral issues with eating meat. For example:
“Can you really ask what reason Pythagoras had for abstaining from flesh? For my part I rather wonder both by what accident and in what state of soul or mind the first man did so, touched his mouth to gore and brought his lips to the flesh of a dead creature, he who set forth tables of dead, stale bodies and ventured to call food and nourishment the parts that had a little before bellowed and cried, moved and lived. How could his eyes endure the slaughter when throats were slit and hides flayed and limbs torn from limb? How could his nose endure the stench? How was it that the pollution did not turn away his taste, which made contact with the sores of others and sucked juices and serums from mortal wounds?”.
Strong statements made with conviction. Plutarch clearly understood the moral implications of eating meat and why it goes against a good code of moral conduct to partake of flesh foods.

Our third and final example of vegetarian philosophers is the great Pythagoras. Pythagoras was a highly influential mathematician, mystic, and philosopher. Pythagoras influenced Plato and in turn all great philosophers afterward. He was most well known for his mathematical theorem which became know as the Pythagorean Theorem. He was a believer in reincarnation which fueled his cause for the vegetarian lifestyle. He felt that animals had souls and that eating them was unethical. While most of what was known about Pythagoras was written by others at a later date, there is plenty of proof of his vegetarianism. Philosopher, Iamblichus said about Pythagorus: “Amongst other reasons, Pythagoras” (says Iamblichus) “enjoined abstinence from the flesh of animals, because it is conducive to peace; for those who are accustomed to abominate the slaughter of other animals. as iniquitous and unnatural, will think it still more unjust and unlawful to kill a man or to engage in war.”

All of these great men, considered to be the greatest minds of their time all had the same sustainable, vegetarian diet in common. They all knew that it is impossible to live a moral life while eating food wrought from murder and suffering. They also understood the health implications of a plant-based diet. These men knew that an ideal and utopian society would be free from suffering for all living creatures. These are only a few examples of the great philosophers that were vegetarian. Check out this article for more information on the topic. Perhaps our world today is the perfect example of what a society based on cruelty and suffering is like. Perhaps if we all lived the lifestyle of these great thinkers, we might actually achieve a true utopia.

The Alternative Media: Providing Our Wake Up Call

Let’s just face it, our government and our media are not to be trusted. There is just way too much corporate funding and influence that goes into both parties. Ever wonder why you never hear news stories about companies like Monsanto? Or why our government and the FDA are so reluctant to put labels on food warning us of genetically modified and/or harmful ingredients? It all boils down to big money from big corporations. Only the rich can be elected to office in today’s political world and our media is run and funded by a small handful of corporations. These corporations have a huge say in what makes it into our news. How is possible then, that we could have unbiased news sources? One of the goals of the mainstream media is to divert our attention away from what is actually going on in our own country by talking about problems in other parts of the world. Another tactic, is to spread fear and propaganda to keep us all frightened and to keep us from acting out or speaking up against what is going on. Thankfully, with the Internet we are able to find a lot of non-corporate funded media outlets. Since these media outlets don’t have their hand in the corporate pocketbook, they are more likely to print the stories that the mainstream media won’t touch. This is of course, to our benefit. Not all of these alternative media outlets are completely accurate or to be trusted, but at least they’re not being funded by the corporations that control our country. That makes them more trustworthy (in my book anyway.)

One great source of alternative media is Democracy Now!. Started in 1996, Democracy Now! has striven to be an outlet for news that gets purposely phased out of the mainstream. Hosts Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzales lead the way on this outstanding project.

Another great source for alternative media is RT America. RT presents an alternative news outlet which isn’t afraid to take on mainstream news. The show “Breaking the Set” is an especially powerful news program featuring Abby Martin, among others.

Yet another great source, is Alternet. Alternet is a division of Independent News Institute, which started in 1998. They present a wide array of stories about corporate corruption, environmentalism, and civil liberties. This website has it all.

These are just a few examples of some of the great media alternatives available with a simple web search. Since there is very little opportunity out there to get real news from the mainstream media, we must look elsewhere. I am not saying that I agree with everything on these sites, nor am I condoning everything that they say with their articles. I am just presenting these examples in the hopes that you will search on your own and find the truth. We all know that media backed by corporate interests is going to be biased whether it’s evident or not.
